CHALLENGE
HOW CAN WE create a service that allows millennials, the target audience, to have access to a service that would easily help them to shop for their houses?
Accessing a service like interior design is extremely expensive and seen as unnecessary as it is considered a luxury service. But why if we make it available to everyone? What if we democratize the access to this service?
key findings
- The research showed that 81% of the people interviewed out of 100-interview sample said that they do not feel completely satisfied with the results when they style their house by themselves, and it was also really important for them to express their personality through their home.
- Still, they find a really expensive service to hire an interior designer and unnecessary when they think of their actual home.
- It was also found that millennials are choosing brands that can offer maximum convenience at the lowest cost, and are open to trying different possibilities when it gets to get furniture and décor for their houses.
OUTCOMES
- Create a way for people to easily shop for their houses, without having to spend a lot of money or hire an interior designer to do so.
- Understanding the taste and preferences of a person by using algorithms, we would ideally provide a service, which recommends the style and products for a specific room. This would be a free personal shopper for people that need help with their houses but does not necessarily have the money to hire someone for advice.
- Partnering with local vendors, Independent designers or artists, local manufactures or craftsmen would enable us to have a wide variety of options to use and recommend the users of the app.
